Hi, You've reached Shantanu's Home Page. Trust you'll enjoy browsing my home page. Here's something about myself. I am the younger of the 2 children to my parents. My parents are basically academicians. My Father, after having retired as the Regional Director from The Regional Institute of Co-operative Management, Bangalore is enjoying his post retirement era dabbling into things that he always wanted to do but could not due to his professional commitments. My Mother is a Professor of Economics and is with The Univeristy of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. My Sister, the only one with brains after after my dad, mom, dog and me(strictly in that order) is a Surgeon at the ESI Hospital in Pune. I guess she gets some kind of a kick in cutting, chopping, needling and sewing the human anatomy. I've spent a good part of my life in Bangalore. 21 years to be precise. I did my schooling at The Home School and then later at Kumaran Children Home. I did my pre-university and later my graduation at Vijaya College. Later I obatined my Master's in Business Administration from Maharishi University of Management, Fairfield, Iowa, USA. I've always aspired to be a pilot and fly in plane in the skies. But thankfully the skies in general and the world in particular is a much safer place to be in, thanks to my aspiration remaining only an aspiration and not turning into a reality. I am now in Dubai, working with The Higher Colleges of Technology at Dubai Men's College. I am the Finance Officer out here. My interest's are netsuring (a thing which gets on the nerves of my colleagues, trekking and nature camping. I love being one with the nature. Kudremukh, a hill station in the South Indian State of Karnataka is my favourite retreat. On second thoughts, Tekkadi, better known as Periyar Forest Reserve, in Kerala is another favourite retreat, not forgeting the Nature Camp in Bannerghatta National park. Well, there is another favourite passtime which has more or less become history now and that is to torment my dog and in the process get my mother worked up. I loved experimenting with him and in the process ended up doing things like painting his face with my mother's nailpolishes, sprinkling pepper in his nose when he is asleep, feeding him with ice-cream. It almost got killed once when the entire thing got frozen in its stomach. The poor soul needed some kind of a minor surgery to recover. Despite all this, he still misses me going by the fact that he sleeps on my cot these days and goes absolutely bersek whenever I come home from Dubai. I, for sure have a tough time calming him down.
